TOYOTA CAMRY 2027: БОЛЬШЕ ЭКРАНОВ, «ХРУСТАЛЬ» И МАССАЖ
The Toyota Camry continues its transformation from a mid-level executive sedan to a gadget that happens to drive. Sales of the 2027 Camry, produced by the GAC-Toyota joint venture in China, have begun. On the exterior, everything remains the same—the body, optics, and overall proportions are nearly unchanged. However, inside, the Japanese have undergone a refresh in the style of «we’ve seen the new Chinese cars too»: a large screen, a fast processor, backlighting, suede, and crystal-like decor.

There are more soft materials, the ceiling is finished with a suede-like material, a 64-color ambient lighting system has been added, and the standard box selector has been replaced by a «crystal» lever. It sounds like an accessory from a boutique, although technically it is a decorative element. It seems Toyota decided to test how much Chinese premium can be added to the Camry before it demands to be renamed the Crown.

And yes, seat massage is now available, but there’s an important nuance: it’s not in the cheapest base version, as some have already written. The front seats with heating, ventilation, and 10-point massage are available on higher trim levels. Hybrid models can also get rear heating and ventilation, electric seatback tilt adjustment, and control over all of this from the second row. It’s still the same Camry—economical, stable, and built to last through several owners. It just now has the added ability to massage the driver.
A massive display, ventilated seats, and a voice assistant are no longer luxuries—they are a baseline requirement. Toyota has had to step up to meet this standard. This is perhaps the most compelling part of the update. We can officially consider the era of «as long as it doesn’t break» to be over. Now, a car must not only function reliably but also feel like a space where you could hold a board meeting, stream a series, or take an afternoon nap.
