About me

Nikolai Ponomarev is a designer working at the intersection of communication, graphics and visual worlds. Above all, I explore how visual language can convey ideas and create atmosphere and imagery.
I work on visual identity, visual concepts and graphics, with a particular focus on narrative. For me, design is largely a way of telling a story.
Many of my projects are tied to creative and musical themes: an art school, a brand identity for a creative collective, and visual styles for bands and artists.
Constellation

Constellation is a children’s art school that brings together several creative disciplines for kids aged 6 to 12.
My project is a rebrand of an existing institution where I once studied myself, which is why I chose it.
The Gathering
«The Gathering» is a creative collective that brings independent musicians together, creating a safe space for the local scene to express itself and grow.
The tape inside the layouts is unrestricted except for two rules: no more than two strips, and both must be the same size. at the same time, the content of the tape is strictly structured. that’s why it looks like a story purely about chaos, but in fact we’re working with a clear structure and order.
It’s a story about chaos. In a musician’s work (and not only theirs) things often look exactly like this. Many creators reach critical mass precisely through chaos and shape it into something whole. That’s how images and the works themselves are born — and yet it’s also a story about discipline.
Electric Lines
Electric Lines is an electronic music band from Nizhny Novgorod with fairly dynamic music, inspired mainly by rave, house and disco.
