The collection of porcelain dinnerware with birch bark named «Izrazets» (Tiled) is created in two prints with carnations (flowers) and herons (birds) on a green background, in collaboration with the Dulevo Porcelain Factory and for the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve in Moscow. The project involves distribution in partner stores of the project as souvenirs, functional household tableware and interior objects. The author of the collection is «Beresta Ltd» and Dulevo Porcelain Factory, 2024.

The Museum-reserve «Kolomenskoye» holds the largest and most complete collection of architectural ceramic tileds in Russia, which has over 14 thousand items. The designers of the «Beryosta» or Berestaproject brand got acquainted with the funds of the museum-reserve and chose two polychrome tileds of the 1680s. These images formed the basis of a new collection of dinnerware. It includes porcelain mugs and cups of various sizes, vases and dishes created in collaboration with the Dulevo porcelain factory. The drawings of tileds are made with decal on porcelain. Partially, the products (small mug 77mm 190ml 0.23kg, large mug 128mm 420ml 0.49kg, vase 25*10mm 1500ml 0.95kg) were created accordingly to the patent of industrial designer Marina Turlay and have birch bark inserts. The brand «Beryosta» covers the porcelain by birch bark strips with the technic of Far Eastern lock which does not involve gluing.

The concept of this collection implies the combination of tradition with modernity, elements of folk art crafts with a rich intangible cultural heritage, i.e. the traditional drawing or decoration of Moscow tileds, the traditional production of «Kuznetsov porcelain» and modern birch bark processing. This project also demonstrates a large-scale and effective collaboration with a museum-type cultural institution and extends in three regions: a capital Moscow, Moscow region and Novgorod region.

A distinctive characteristic of Berestaproject’s design is the use of birch bark in combination with other materials — thus, modern shape design is enriched by the aesthetics of antiquity. The birch bark either is used as a decor, nor as a thermal insulator, so you can get in hands the cups and mugs with hot drinks iniside without fear of getting burned. Berestaproject tableware can be washed both manually and in the dishwasher, as well as used in the microwave.
