Border State
The project is an investigation of the material and virtual worlds merging at the moment of fulfilling daily automatic actions: checking the mail, chatting in messengers, as well as physical moving within the city. Very often we do not track the moment of gliding from the real world into a digital one, so I focus on the transition zone between the realities and propose to pay attention to the blind zone, to perceive this process, to feel the difference between the realities, and, which is more important, states.

‘Galina Vassilievna is transitting to WhatsApp at Boitsovaya street, 5. Nursultan is also making a transition at the same time but experiences communication barriers. Everybody is fine as well as the messenger itself.’

Bringing to the logical conclusion the idea of the interrelation and difference between the digital and physical worlds, I supplement the paintings with their continuations in augmented reality.
