About me

Hi, I’m Kate, a multidisciplinary designer.I turn cultural stories and local details into clear visual systems. I’m interested in local projects, people, and everyday details. I create meaningful design that helps brands connect with people.
My approach
Research & concept.Every project starts with research. I learn about the brand, its audience, and its context. This helps me find what makes the brand unique and build a clear idea to guide the design. From concept to visual language. Then I turn the idea into a visual system — from brand identity to packaging and other materials. I create design that feels true to the brand, works across different formats, and speaks to the right audience.
Layers of History. A Capsule Collection
from the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin
visual identity • merch

About the projectThe Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin is a place where history comes alive. Its story can be found not only in its walls, but also in objects hidden beneath the ground. The taskTo create a capsule merchandise collection inspired by the history of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The solutionI reviewed the Kremlin’s existing merchandise and souvenirs. Many of them used similar and simple ideas, so I looked for a less familiar story to tell.I focused on archaeological finds discovered beneath the Kremlin. I turned these objects into the main visual elements of the collection. This approach brings pieces of the past into everyday life and gives them a new meaning.
Vanishing: Single-Industry Towns
of the Nizhny Novgorod Region
typography • printed publication
About the project12.7 million people in Russia live in single-industry towns. When one company shapes most of a town’s life, the town faces a real risk. This calendar draws attention to towns with economic challenges and a lower quality of life. I was born in Zavolzhye, a single-industry town, and believe these places can grow again. Each has its own character and story. The taskTo create a calendar—an everyday object that would help people notice and learn more about single-industry towns. The solutionThe calendar has two parts. The first gives information about the town: the month, its location coordinates, and a short introduction. The second is a tear-off calendar with the dates and population statistics.
Merch for Zapovednye Kvartaly
merch
About the projectZapovednye Kvartaly is a project to restore and preserve the historic wooden buildings of Nizhny Novgorod. The taskTo create a capsule merchandise collection inspired by the character of the area. The solutionThe collection is based on the carved details of traditional window frames. These patterns are an important part of the neighbourhood and reflect the local tradition of wooden architecture. Some parts of the pattern gradually disappear. This detail represents how fragile the area is and draws attention to the need to preserve it.
Clothing brand Byl’
visual identity • fashion shoot • website
About the projectByl’ is a clothing brand created by a Moscow-based urban planner with a deep love for Russia. The brand brings traditional motifs into modern clothing. Each piece is made by hand, turning a fairy-tale idea into something real. Byl’ is about cultural roots, bright self-expression, and seeing tradition in a new way.The taskTo create a clear and unified visual identity for the brand. The solutionMany brands use Russian folk motifs, so I looked for a fresh way to work with this theme. I started with the brand’s slogan and drew inspiration from Russian folk tales. Story characters, the red thread, and the large red letters found at the beginning of old books became key elements of the visual identity. I also designed the packaging and website, created other brand materials, and developed the visual direction for an image shoot.
