The military has this method of training, «induction», that is, an unexpected condition for a standard task. They are applied in examinations and exercises, and they are curly. «The bridge is blown up, before the nuclear strike is half an hour. Your actions?» And watch the command fathers pull out the lieutenant. So we once got a «one-on-one» question: «Can you do an I.D. for a CSI anniversary based on a pile of coal?»

«Of course we can. But why? „Well, so historically,“ said the Employer, „our first artistic act was on a pile of coal. Then we got the old Kron Prince barracks under the Center. She’s still gonna drown and there’s a bunch in the yard again. Besides, coal is energy and heat. He could also be a diamond. Anyway, it’s our symbol.“ So that the Employer would have a nice explanation for the presentations, and we’d be more interested in working, we’d rewrite the „coal input“ like this:

Art is a time-painted memes and cultural codes hidden by the energy of past human relationships. This «coal» may still be a cold black stone, but if the curator is willing and skilled, it can be heated by the hot flames of generating new meanings and heating, or «burning,» the viewers.

It’s easier to come up with a beautiful rationale for a project than to make a logo. To pack so many letters into a black stone, turning a «possible future diamond» into a diamond, it took a few dozen logos to cut off.

Then the most exciting thing started! To make the coal really burn, we made a metal logo and set up a real fire show in Vladislav Efimov’s photo studio. Nearly 300 people with burning letters have helped us to synthesize the expressive image of «spraying 10-years».
