This poster examines the concept of oil dependence — economic dependence on oil production and export. Although oil can bring short-term income, long-term dependence weakens sustainable development. This slows down economic diversification, increases vulnerability to fluctuations in global prices, and hinders innovation. In environmental terms, oil production leads to environmental pollution, climate change, ecosystem destruction and resource depletion. Socially, this exacerbates inequality and shifts the focus away from education and environmentally friendly technologies. The metaphor «their future is slipping away» reflects how irretrievably natural resources are being lost, and future opportunities are disappearing.
