It’s a series of illustrations of my summer trip to Kazan with a group of Polina and Masha. We left as soon as we passed the summer session: no endlines, no projects, no sense of time. And I was happy these three days.
Paper, wax chalk, scratching the stitch. General format of the 630×594 mm series
In May, translated from the Tartar balm for my heart. Words you want to give this city and its people.
Pictures are modular and can be collected in two rows as well as in one wide band with key colour spots. The left-hand and right-hand paintings are pictures of religious structures: the Kul-Sharif Mosque and the Cathedral of Bogojavlen. In Kazan, Orthodox and Muslim religions have a surprisingly organic and close connection, shaping the city ' s cultural landscape with all its identity and beauty.
