GENERAL MOTORS ПОДКЛЮЧИТ ИИ К РАЗРАБОТКЕ МАШИН
ПИКАПЫ ДЕРЖИТЕСЬ!
General Motors has decided to integrate artificial intelligence into the development of new vehicles. The American automotive giant, which for decades has honed the art of turning gasoline into noise, smoke, and hefty gas station bills, has finally decided to consult with intelligence—even artificial intelligence.

I wonder what GM will ask its digital genius? How to make a huge V8 pickup use less than 20 liters per hundred kilometers? How to make a Cadillac not weigh as much as a small planet? Or how to explain to buyers that an electric crossover can be a vehicle, not just a refrigerator on wheels?

However, the task is not simple for AI. It must reconcile the American love for eight cylinders, massive hoods, and engines capable of drying out a small oil pipeline, with the demands for fuel efficiency and environmental consciousness. All while ensuring the buyer can still tow a trailer loaded with a house, a boat, and another pickup.
The funniest thing is that artificial intelligence will, first and foremost, suggest reducing the vehicle’s mass, installing a smaller engine, and shedding unnecessary hardware. At that point, GM engineers will nervously light up and explain to the algorithm that such approaches aren’t customary in America.
