Description
The action takes place in an Eastern European mansion in the 18th century. The main character William comes to a ball thrown by the local nobility that run most of the hospitals in the area.
Chapter I
William walks along a large corridor past whispering guests who have withdrawn from the festive bustle. At the end of the corridor a violinist is rehearsing before entering the hall. William follows the sound of the violin, but his attention is drawn by an open door leading to a dark basement. Driven by a primal interest, he enters it and falls into a stupor. In the basement, he sees numerous human bodies lying on operating tables with tubes connected to their necks, through which blood flows into one large glass tank. Iron mechanisms are working, the sounds of their titanic labour merge with the sounds of music coming from the hall through ventilation. Suddenly the character falls out of his stupor and sees red burning eyes in the dark. He abruptly turns around.

Chapter III
The character runs along the empty corridor of the mansion, where the people seem to have evaporated. He hears and feels that something very fast and inhuman is chasing him, as if he is running from the wind. On the move, he grabs a vase from the table and throws it towards his pursuer. Turning around for a second, out of the corner of his eye William notices a large, webbed wing that sweeps right by his face. Around the corner, he sees a knight’s armour and grabs a sword, which only slows down his running. Suddenly he sees a door to the toilet and, accelerating his pace, he storms into it.
Chapter IV
Unexpectedly William finds himself in the stable, and he is overcome by an extreme desire to leave this terrible place as soon as possible. He takes a gun lying near the entrance, quickly opens the gate and saddles a horse. The night has fallen, and the forest around the mansion is hopelessly dark. However, after galloping only a few dozen yards, he hears hooves behind him. A chase begins. William notices a distant lantern, which is getting closer by the second. Flocks of bats fly past him, there are more and more of them, and it is already difficult for him to fend them off. Suddenly, a strong blow knocks him off his horse, and William falls to the ground.
Chapter V
The monumental space of the hall is illuminated with green neon light. The entourage of the huge room resembles a technical room, a nightclub, and a secret laboratory at the same time. Towering rows of cryochambers are connected to computers. William is in one of these capsules. He opens his eyes and, hurriedly getting out of his cell, looks around in panic. A nearby computer emits a beeping alert sound. The text on the screen reads: «Chip failure. Return to the cryochamber immediately and wait for the curator!» William stands motionless for a few seconds and starts walking towards a huge metal door. Mucus of unknown origin drips from him, and his body gradually begins to get paralyzed.
Having barely reached the door, he makes a dash with the last of his strength, the door opens, and William falls unconscious.
