This module’s creative task was a fashion shoot titled «the past is in the future».
The project began with a thought that modern people live in a rapidly changing and unpredictable world. Not everyone is able to adapt to this pace and everchanging circumstances, and many live with depression, choosing to stay in their own world, the world of thoughts.
I chose a fashion photographer whose visual language is most like mine, Guy Bourdain. It was his pictures that inspired me to make the series. In my photos, I tried to show a feeling of anxiety and isolation.
My project tells a story of a girl. The main character broke up with a young man and is trying to forget him. However hard she tries to think about something else, she fails. I used locations that cause anxiety: shopping malls, parking lots, roads, train stations, tram tracks. The abundance of locations suggests that wherever a girl is and whatever she is busy doing, she is in bits. The character feels lonely and restless everywhere.
