Captain Cat — a brave young captain and the deep sea explorer. Worried about the fate of the underwater inhabitants, he surfs the boundless oceans in order to help the inhabitants of the depths.

In the course of the project all the stages of creating a 3D character were passed: creating a design and visual style, developing a character model from free sculpting to geometry ready for animation in Autodesk Maya. The main goal was to go through all the stages and get acquainted with the general character creation pipeline.

Texturing was done in Substance Painter and shading in Unreal Engine.
In parallel with the creation of textures, work was carried out on the character’s rig for future animation.

And the last stage of work is the creation of the location and exporting it into the Unreal Engine. The work also includes setting atmospheric light and animated cameras. Assets that make up the environment are partly modeled in Maya, partly taken from from Epic Games Marketplace and Sketchfab Platform.
