Alternative HSE x ITS films
As part of the «HSE x ITS: Alternative Cinema» contest, I created six posters for three Indonesian films: Pamali (2022, Bobby Pricetyo) — Ada Apa dengan Cinta? (2002, Rudy Soedjarwo) — Sang Pencerah (2010, Hanung Bramantyo)
Pamali
In the first poster, the title of the film is like a threatening-secret ghost hiding in the dark, which is one of the central places in the film.
On the second poster, the name appears with scissors, one of the main objects in the film around which the story is developing.
Ada Apa dengan Cinta?
It is inspired by the school, bright, and immediate atmosphere of the film. Green, pink and yellow colors are often seen in the frame against the background, as are various advertisements, posters and papers hanging on the walls.
For the second poster, I took a screen shot from a movie where the main character writes a letter to the main hero. I multiplied the text of the letter and gave it a texture, as if it were written in lipstick. The pink color of the poster represents the whole school love movie.
Sang Pencerah
In this poster, I took the name of the place created by the main hero from where he educates the people, and I put behind it various texts and documents showing how much work behind the hero’s ideas. Orange colors metaphorically show the fire that the bad guys used in the film to destroy this place, but Ahmad Dahlan’s faith and power were stronger.
The second poster depicts the main hero, and the name around it and the bright colors show the strength of his faith and the ideas he shared with the world.
