Темой книги является исследование того, как человек может воспринимать бытовое пространство двух концептуально различных по социально-культурному уровню городов. Проект родился из моей частой миграции между Самарой и Москвой: моим родным городом и местом где я сейчас учусь и живу. Постоянные перемещения с первого курса, в момент осознанного формирования моей личности, вызывали противоречивые чувства. Главным методом является визуальное сопоставление артефактов городских пространств и людей, выявляющее парадоксы и поэтические метафоры, которые отражают мой внутренний диссонанс и основываются не на формальной логике и графических особенностях визуального языка, а на чувственном восприятии — потока эмоций и ассоциаций, отражающих человеческую природу.
Безыскусная нежность и простота провинции, характерное для нее ощущение отсутствия перспективы; динамичность, возможности для роста, отстраненность и внутренняя холодность людей в столице — всё это рождает лиричные, провокативные и сатирические сочетания. Основная логика проекта, выражается в использовании диптихов и гармонических метафор, которые строятся вокруг наблюдений за заинтересовавшей меня «имитацией»: провинция, стремится копировать столичную эстетику, а Москва, пытается воспроизвести провинциальную аутентичность. Местами становится непонятно, где какой город, так как противоположности не могут существовать в чистом виде отдельно друг от друга. Это слияние «центра» и «периферии» создает пространство для размышлений о контексте, культуре, людях и самом себе.
