Introduction
Zhaoling Mausoleum, in Zhenguan 10 years (636) began construction, to Zhenguan 23 years Li Shimin buried here. During his lifetime, Emperor Taizong ordered the carving of six meritorious warhorses to stand in front of the mausoleum — known as the «Six Steeds of Zhaoling». They have endured a thousand years of wind and rain, but two of them were lost overseas in the early 20th century. Zhaoling six steeds as China’s historical and cultural treasures, because of its identity of the special, and the fate of misfortune, by all walks of life by the general attention of the community. Their function as the promotion of the Tang emperor’s martial arts to stabilize the country has accomplished its historical mission, but the historical information, cultural ideas and national spirit they carry are still shining in the historical stage of the new era.
