Development of a location for a comic book based on the biography of Maria Tarnowska-O’Rourke. I decided to consider the Venetian court where Tarnowska’s case was heard: she had incited some of her lovers to kill others. I could not find information about the court where the proceedings took place, so I chose to take the Roman palazzo of justice as the model, and also the church and the theatre. It was important for me to convey the feeling of discomfort, tightness and noise.

To create an oppressive atmosphere, I decided to use deep space with a slightly distorted perspective, as well as to make the picture dense and detailed through individual strokes.

Even though my images were created as part of another project, they also work as isolated illustrations and can even be used in merchandise.
