A team of MIEM (HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics) students led by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Computer Engineering Alexey Rolich (team members: Ilya Motailenko, Diana Rakhimova, Marina Firsova, Dmitry Egorov, Pavel Samoylenko, Andrey Tsurkan, Nikita Chuvaldin, Dmitry Egorov, Anton Aleinikov, Polina Graur, Semyon Posmitny) created an interactive guide with augmented reality effects (AR-guide) in Russian and English, as well as a floor-by-floor tour of Durasov’s house.

An AR-guide around the Durasov House will help to immerse oneself in the past and feel the spirit of the past years. It’s usually used on an offline tour of the mansion. By pointing a phone or a tablet at a particular object, one can see how the building is transformed, using different shapes in accordance with the era.
If we consider the AR guide from a technical point of view, then this is a very modern work. It uses markerless technology, the latest in AR technology fashion. The user does not need to download QR codes or tags — he just walks around the building, studies the graphic material, and also reads and listens to the accompanying text.
