Перемены 1980–1990 годов определили последующую жизнь корсетов, наконец, вырвавшись из категории нижнего белья с посылом угнетения женщин в поиске неестественных для тела человека идеалов, ставший гордым предметом одежды, все же получил преобразования смыслов и в современности 21 века. Теперь корсет не обязательно от Кутюр, это не предмет гардероба, который будет ждать свой час только по важному и торжественному случаю. Теперь корсет это абсолютно стандартная вещь в гардеробе девушки, он может надеваться поверх одежды, рубашек, блуз, может выступать в роли самостоятельного топа, но суть одна — этим уже никого не удивишь, прошло то время, когда такое использование данного элемента гардероба было новшеством и протестом против старых устоев
